Arsenal Football Club can confirm that this afternoon striker Eduardo was granted his work permit. The striker had initially been turned down (this seems to be the standard procedure for these types of immigration cases) on the basis that he had only played 50% of Croatia's international matches over the last 2 years rather than the requisit 75%. However any rule bending clearly can't be taken by the underlings at the department of immigration and always seem to require 'higher-level' negotiations to take place. The granting of the visa was never really in doubt, given the excellent form of the striker for club and country by comparison to other visa grantees this summer.

More to follow after the Amsterdam Tournament Game against Lazio scheduled for this evening.
