Well, the cesc-less midfield confirmed our concerns as it utterly collapsed against twente. The overall squad performance was just good enough. I think Bischoff is a very interesting signing, unlike some unknowns we've bought he's was portuguese u21 int'l. groin injuries can be tricky and i've little faith in our staff to keep players healthy but i'll keep my fingers crossed for this one.

Chelsea and Utd might be capable of losing so many players and still look good but one is bank-rolled by a billionaire and one is just spending cash which they don't have and are in serious financial trouble.

We currently are neither of those so I think you have to be realistic when looking at squad numbers.

Well look you say we miss Cesc as though he's the only midfielder missing. Nasri and Rosicky are missing. Diaby is out, Cesc too obviously, no Eduardo available- allowing him to play upfront and use RvP on the left.

Frankly a lack of Cesc wasn't worrying at all. WHat it did show is SO FAR we know when we have loads of first choice players injured we don't look as good.

The same can be said of almost every team. You can't have so many players who can walk into the team so easily filing up the squad otherwise they soon get annoyed at being on the bench. Look at Diarra.

I certainly feel we need an established defensive midfielder to come into the first team, and Wenger said he IS going to do that so I think we can only consider it unlucky that we have so many out. Lets not forget Bischoff as well- I have no idea what he's like but if he was totally fit he may have played and looked the business last night, we just don't know.
